Much better choice....however, $200 more. With that said, I am not paying $200 for a Polk Audio logo and will still intergrate aethetically.

I would guess that is a better investment than the $299 Polk. I'll cancel that sub order tomorrow. You are right...even though I knew it when I ordered it...I just wanted something better than what I had...

I'd rather spend money and be happy than spend money and have a name.

MJ-18? Maybes...

I never heard one, but by modeling it doesn't seem good for the home except in IB perhaps, but even then it is missing the XMAX and needs more drivers to make up output potential. Of course modeling is only theoretical and like I said, I never hear one.

Iam, what brand of rack amps do you like?
I searched and saw those sonotubes that audiojunkies has...I can build something like that (though less glossy)

I would need something that did 500 x 2 @ 2 or 4. I have some old D4 subs sitting around. I *think* the receiver has a LPF. I think the only thing I would need is an adapter to get it to fit to the rack amp?

I am a bang for buck fan by heart and even though it is shown they don't make rated power(many don't) I think Behringer is a good value. My receiver has an LPF too, but I am using a dayton plate amp for my attic IB. I chose a plate because I mounted it into the wall behind the entertainment center. One less piece to have a shelf for.

I through the MJ-18 idea out....if I am trying to "cut costs" or whatever. I can run these two Pioneer SPL 2000 subs I have sitting in boxes in sonotubes in each corner. Maybe a little overboard on subs but who cares, plus, I think I can build it nice enough to make it work....looking at these rack amps now since all processing will be done by a/c receiver.

I am not familiar with those models but by the name it implies they are geared for SPL in cars. I don't think you will get theatrical LFE out of them. Can you not sell them to buy a driver more geared for home LFE? IXL, Avalanche, Dayton titanic.

Solid choice on driver. that will be at home in either sealed or ported. Wouldn't a dayton 500 watt plate be cheaper though? I am not as critical on amps as I am the driver in sub stages. No matter what people say, it takes a good portion of harmonic distortion to be noticeable in a sub stage.

Never mind, I see they are on special. That is cheap as ****! Definitely a good buy. They used ot run more than the Daytons when I bought my plate.

I R using a 10" lms proto sub and flip's old plate amp (after i pay him at the end of this week) for my dorm sub setup

and flip, i need to build a box for this bish... i also think i might use the 10" GTR passive radiator i have sitting around
