It also uses a Variable belt transmission. They never have the same feel of pull to them. I am not a fan of belt transmissions. They feel lifeless.
When I first looked at the car I thought, dam Ford has finally gotten it right. I honestly don't know of an Amrican car that I would be very interested in. I am not saying that there is not one -- I just don't consider those things too often.

Thats where the rub lies. It is also one I can't deny. Domestics(more specifically GM) is not building cars people want to buy. This can't be contradicted since it relies solely on purchases.

As much as I support American, A Saturn is not the way to go. The old ones were good but they seem to have gone downhill.
Thats because Saturn really isn't Saturn anymore.

In the beginning GM really kept that division separate. All the way from R&D to manufacturing and following through to sales strategies. Hell, in the beginning GM employees didn't even get real breaks for buying a Saturn or special factory ordered deals.

Now GM decided it wasn't working and has melded the division into just another Chevy, Pontiac, etc. They share powerplants, assembly lines, and entire platforms with other GM vehicles.

This wasn't the case in the original vision. In fact GM didn't want people to know it was GM.

Tis sad imo.
