But only 2 major film studios support HD DVD anymore. Compared to the all the others supporting Blu-Ray. Thats a tough uphill battle for Toshiba, since they will release fewer movies each year than Blu-Ray.

Uni, Para, & Dreamworks have announced that they may release Speilberg's movies in HD-DVD.

Every site that I've read said that Blu-Ray was out selling HD-DVD in the USA and worldwide. (2 to 1 in the USA, 3 to 1 in Europe, and 14 to 1 in Japan last year in favor of Blu-Ray sales)

No, HD-DVD won the battle with standalone players, PS3 is what brought Blu into the winning margin.

I did read where twice HD-DVD announced that Spielberg was going to release all his movies on their format, but then had to go back and make a public apology to him. (In February and then later in October)

Predator and Commando are supposed to be released on Blu-Ray, April 15th.

I wonder if these old movies will be worth buying on hi-def. I mean, I'm sure they will be better quality than the dvd films, and they would still be awesome to see in their upgraded format. Just as long as they clean the film and transfer it well, but I doubt they can make the film look extremely breathtaking since the films are too old. But they are two of my favorite movies, so I probably will end up and buy them. lol
