there actually is. Driving a truck is an either you can or you can't deal. In terms of adequate my judgment may be skewed but I say they are in demand. In terms of on time service, the industry is failing because of a thinly populated fleet. Why do you think all these big cross country trailers have help wanted signs? Because they are in demand.

A while back I was researching being a truck driver, and I found the same thing, they seem to be in demand. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/imdaman.gif.bc6c552e19aa4ad8c47461144f40eb1a.gif

hey,
you deleted my post about that free offer.

http://www.forumlagoon.com/forumdisplay.php?f=49

here's there forum.

I had enough points to get a little cheesy keychain light "prize".

It should come soon, and when (if i guess i should say) it does, I'm reposting it.

Because then it wont be spam.

No, anyone who posts links to those type of offers gets banned. It's against TOS, part of monetary gains.
but I'm not making monetary gains. I'm not making anything. I'm just saying if you want to spend some time, you can get some free stuff.

Theres one in the lounge right now that undercoverpunk posted about a free 1gb flash card.

But whatever you say. I'm not gonna push the issue.

-Eric
LOL the one UCP posted is a legit order, he ordered with his credit card, and didn't get charged.

Yours is one of those 'free offer' deals where you need so many people to click your link. Not gonna happen.

I don't need anyone to click my link. I'm filling out stuff on my own and getting stuff. I'm just posting it because I'm sure there are people on here who would like to do the same and get free stuff as well.

but oh well.

your the mod, not me.

Why do you blame the UAW?
Don't get me wrong thanks to them, my dad always had food on the table for us. I also have 3 uncles in GM under the UAW. However, any union is about making money themselves and just will not budge when it comes time to give back to a company and loosen up. They rally the troops into thinking they need more so that they get more. When in reality a business/employee relationship has to be give and take on both sides at times. I don't blame the UAW solely. Gm has ****ed up many times on their own and also gave in more than they should have just to keep cash flow generated when times were good. However the Union has never ever backed down, even when they should for the greater good of ALL involved.

very nice. how does one go about getting into that profession?
my guidance counselor in high school never told me about it.
into truck driving?

Try to find a company that will sponsor you getting your CDL. Or find one that will send you and theyll take a little out of your check each month to pay them back minus like half of it. That way you dont have to pay any money out of pocket.

DEpending on the school and your program and what youre going for school can be from 2 weeks to 4 months, so far what ive seen and what my friends and brother have done.

I'm looking at it from a 'my area' standpoint. I wouldn't claim to know what the demand is nationwide.
You work in what is nearly undeniably the biggest "industrial" state as opposed to "consumer" state. Every friggin driver looks for loads going to Cali and makes thin profit deals to go their because they know they will get a load coming out. You may see a lot of drivers and truck for this very fact, but I guarantee you are misled in thinking they aren't in demand in your state. It cost me nearly 1k more to get a load from CA to FL than from FL to CA. This is because FL is a consumer state and most drivers fear deadheading when coming to FL. Where as going to CA, the risk is less that they will deadhead back.

In fact I am willing to wager that you are speaking only of "local" drivers, in which you may be correct. Most companies and distros in CA are looking to move stock OUT of CA not inside of it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif Different markets altogether.
