After school and driving school, you can get a loan. Loans are easy if credit and credentials are good. Yes 35k is nothing this day and age unfortunately. Will you get by on it? Sure, but complacency alway sets in. You need to do the hard work upfront and take risks young so the payout comes when you get older.I'm not going to buy a rig when I have no experience driving one. Will you loan my over 100K then to buy a rig? Name me someone who will loan an unemployed 22 year old 100k +. I guess I didn't know starting at 35k was meager pittance.
50k is good living here.50K doesn't get you shit out here. Must be different in Detriot.
Uh, yeah. Think about it... if you can get by on 30k a year.. then you've already paid off your debt in 1-2 years if you're smart with your money. I would definitely do it.So you suggest I put myself in 20-30k worth of debt to come out with a 60k a year job?

i think its a pretty good idea. watching all the documentaries and everything..alot of them have pretty nice rigs, nicer than most homes. and the truck stops are becomming extremely high tech in some areas. im almost jealous i cant stay in something like that overnight. To be honest I think it has more to do with you guys looking down upon truck drivers then anything else. I don't see what is wrong with making a good living.
