I am new to this board and got a question,

A buddy of mine gave me a cruch blackmaxx 2250 amp, I never heard his system, but I was curious if it will sustain my two reference series INFINITY 12's. The amp suppossedly provides 1000 watts max at 2 OHM but I just want some insight. IS this amp any good, I know is a gift but do I run the risk of damaging my subs or is it even worth my time to install this amp......

The Blackmaxx 2250 is capable of 4 & 2 Ohms stereo and only 4 Ohms in the bridged mode.

Not 2 Ohms bridged.

Crunch tends to puff their numbers a bit but not by much. At 4 ohms stereo you should get some decent response from your subs.

I think ive found why why their amps are rated for a little more than they actually put out, they are rated at 14.4v according to their website at http://www.maxxsonics.com which is also the same company that makes hifonics. As we all know most electrical systems do good to put out about 13.8 when under a substantial load and thats probably the reason why they dont put out what they say they will but if you were able to feed them the true 14.4v that they are rated for, I bet they would do what they say.
