Also, the Texan oil magnates are making quite a bit off of this nice fleecing they are giving us. The oil companies are making record profits while we bend over a little bit further. We'll be touching our toes soon if this shit doesn't stop.
Here's what I don't understand.... How is it that a regional manager basically can lower or raise the price as seen fit, even if it's the same gasoline that was in the storage tanks yesterday for less money?
Makes no sense to me.....

The regional manager raises the price based on the price they'll have to pay for the NEXT load of gas. What good does it do to sell your gas so cheap that you can't afford the next load which will cost more than the gas you are pumping now?
This is called speculation. The gas station actually makes more money if the next load is CHEAPER. But since the price of crude keeps going up that is not happening. Besides, a gas station only makes a few pennies per gallon., Most of the profits come from the Marlboros, Pepsi, and Twinkies they sell to our fat *****. If you think about it, the gas station concept pretty much sums up most of Americas problems. Greed, Gluttony, Sloth...etc
My local Quick Trip told me they get a truckload of gas almost daily so your point is moot anyway. Yes, we consume that much.
Oil companies are making record profits because of record consumption. It's a world market. If you place a barrel of oil on
eBay and someone in China outbids you then you're shit out of luck. Unless you're WILLING to pay more.
Now they could pump MORE oil. This would make the price go down because there would be more to go around and we wouldn't have to bid against other countries for the same barrel of oil. But if you were an oil company would you do that when idiots are willing to pay more for the same product? Think about it. Pump the same oil, the same wages, the same equipment, and get paid more. Why add more oil rigs, pay more people, and work more hours to get LESS per barrel? It's a no brainer.
The point I was trying to make earlier was that we use oil for EVERYTHING. Very little of it gets made into gasoline.
