I know, thats why I blame Canada //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif They haven't figured out a way to do it cheap. I blame them only jokingly, of course. That oil would cost far more to refine the arab oil. The oil sands are full of heavy crude while arab oil is light, doesn't cost as much to refine. And biodiesl is NOT the answer, it might make gas a few pennies cheaper but when we are using alot of our corn to make it, that will send the prices of corn, meat and most other dariy products up.
Do they make bio-diesel with corn? That is ethanol that you are thinking of, I believe. I'm not a huge fan of ethanol for the reasons you mention, I agree 100%!
Bio-Diesel is made with soy beans and waste cooking oil among other things, IIRC.
The main reason I like bio-diesel is that a diesel engine is more fuel efficient anyway. Then you add the fact that you can run it on waste oil and you have a good setup. Another ideal source for bio-diesel is hemp (300 gallons per acre)... if our government allowed its farming.
