Crossovers

I would like to know how to hookup alpines spr17s to alpines pdx 5 amp. do I still use the crossover that came with the spr17s or not ?

You can run active or passive. Passive being the crossovers that came with the speakers.

Look at the stickies in either the amplifier or the speakers section there is a thread on it.

I would recommend using the passive crossovers if you are a set it once type of guy. Running active requires a lot of tweaking and time

I already have the spr17s with crossovers installed as well as the spr-69 c I am now going from using the prmier's deh-600ub 50x 4 peak watts to the actual watts tested on the pdx5 are 110x4 rms and 422x1 on the mono but I am getting another pdx series amp for the 3 x10 type x that I am getting. second amp will arrive in july and will power 2 12 xsites until I get the type x. by the way would you go multi channel or mono for the 3 x 10's?
