crossovers?

my mids are 2 6x9s and 2 4 inch spkrs. when i turn the bass up on my HU, they sound pretty poopy, can a mid crossover take care of this because i want to keep my bass up on the HU for my subs.

also, can i run those speakers off my memphis PRD1000.1, which is 1000 watts, or will there still be too much wattage going to the mid speakers?

Get a two channel amp and properly amp your speakers...

holy batman, where do i start?

first, bad idea to run a mono subwoofer amp on 4" speakers and 6x9's. these speakers are what 30-50 watts rms? the good news is though you'll only hear one pop.

a 6x9 is not a mid

i bet you are clipping your amp like mad. bass boost are great woofer cookers.

next do you know what a crossover is?

for the 6x9's you want to set your xover to 100 hz. most likely and 150 hz. or so for the 4's.
