Crossovers for pro audio?

Question to the guys running pro audio. What kind of crossovers do you run? Are there any passive crossovers or do you have to run active?

I run active with a Pio 880, but you can get amps that are bandpass capable, passive xovers from PE, or use FMOD's....

No they arent ...all the ppi bk series and phantoms are ...my ppi bk800.4 does 130x4 @4 ohms ..cost 150 bucks ..and i run pa active on it

sundown, AQ, Crescendo all have 4ch amps with BP xovers...

Most pro audio is still 8 ohms, and there are tons of passive crossovers for them on parts express and the speaker vendor sites.

you probably dont need to bandpass pro audio, i use those 5k passive on my tweets and let my amp do the crossover on the midrange

If you want them to sound good you need to bandpass the mids. If you want them to be loud/screechy then let them roll off up top...

Tbh i blended my mids with my tweets on bandpass and couldnt tel much difference

I had them set on bandpas crossed at 100and 3.5k then my tweets hpf crossed at 3.5k. switched to hpf on mids to see and not much difference to me at all
