Crispy coils ok?

that NOT normal but what do i know..
Really?(Iam not being a smart a** just asking)

Just about every sub I have owned has had some coil color change, albeit not very much. But then again, if it dose change a lot, thats not good.

I was just thinking that some slight color change was ok.

Any who, I have a 2512 here that is fine but was wondering what you could do with it? Shoot me a pm if you can, thanks.

I've played subs to the point where coil gets very dark. Obviously that's not good for it and you're that much closer to burning off the shellac and shorting the coil and/or slinky-ing it, but if it's intact it shouldn't change performance.

is this a serious thread?

considering its not a life form, and it has no way to heal and you can see that there is damage from playing 2x rated power to it id say the damage is permanent

i know its kinda crazy thinking like that all rational and **** but its what i do

lulz

the way i look at it is..play it hard until it blows. once it blows, send it to spl so it can take 2x the power and won't blow again lol
wont cost too much to recone that lil guy //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

how much you think you could get them to take on a recone? they are only 2" coils. oh , btw , now that i did the wire upgrade i get my windsheild to flex. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
