Crisp 2 way

The mids are good the tweeter is what lacking so I'll probably just look into some new tweeters any recommendations. I do have them off axis I did try them on axis they sound better but not enough for me to fiberglass my a pillars to put them on axis.

very few tweeters sound decent off axis. Just swap out your tweet man, dont need to get a new set. You can put in focal polyglass, Arc audio black series tweets or if you want something budget oriented but still pretty **** good, look into vifa ne25, polk db or image dynamics xs28.

Just to give you a comparison of how much you are actually losing when going off axis vs on axis.

Red = 60 degrees off axis

green = 30 degrees off axis

dark blue = on axis

ignore the lower line

That is pretty true for these tweets I'm playing with currently.

you like soft domes?

I haven't really compared tweeters before so I'm not really sure. But I'm debating on just going pro audio with ds18 and just be loud and some what clear and sell the hertz because they get kinda of loud but the midbass starts to get nasty when they do.

not very conventional but these are decent of axis. not as bright as the titanium nor the harshness of the aluminum but not quite and natural as the smooth silk domes. truth be told no matter what tweeters you get anymore than about 15-20 degrees off axis and your asking for trouble...

those are pretty nice tweeters

agreed. You lose so much detail its not even funny. Well to us anyways. Most normal people and bassheads dont even notice it.

Yeah I do already played with gains. Just going too get 2 8s and 2 super tweets per side. Got a guy said fiber glass my a pillars and door planels for $100

I made the mistake of using my gain as a volume control for my tweeters since they were getting 200watts each. Didn't think they could take the power. Big mistake! They always sounded a bit fuzzy and annoying at high volume. The pg xenon likes a high input voltage so the gains on the highs are a touch over half. They are way cleaner and can play them so much louder before any distortion.

most super tweeters sound like **** honestly. if you don't like the hertz chances are you wont like the super tweeters. if you want something that sounds good and get loud glass some ribbon tweeters or some AMT tweeters. most highend tweeters get plenty loud for most systems though. what amp you have on them? whats your xover points? a good pair of 8s will be louder but your going to have to drop the xover quite abit if you want some decent blending and sound staging.

Ill have to double check I know my my tweets are crossed at 4.5k not sure slope and all top of my head. They sound good just not crisp what so ever and not loud at all very lacking. Have them on a PPI 900.4 and tuned with a alpine h660. But I like a loud and in your face set up that's sounds crisp.

telling man, fix your 6khz to 16khz EQ range. They are most likely lacking. You will need to fix the dips and valleys using your EQ and there is most likely a dip in the 6khz to 12.5 khz range if you are complaining about lack of rice krispies. They also sound undergained. Tweets usually easily drown out mids when done right.

I turned my gains all the way 3/4 still not loud.

how about the EQ. This seriously doesnt sound right at all. I dont like the ESK lines but they screamed in a local setup at a much lower gain setting on a kenwood x998 on 150 watts for the set. Guy was doing 143 db as well and they overpowered his subs.
