crazy idea?

so i found a good deal on a 3sixty.2 and since the wife got me a treo 650 for my birthday i think i'm going that route..

so it has the ability to run a 3 way active front stage

so far i am getting lpg 25nfa tweets, peerless exclusive woofer (the one with the silver horn on the cone) being powered by hopefully the sundown 100.4 when it comes out soon.

so i was wondering if i could get this and run it off of the stock amp (from a 06 civic si with 300 watt stock sound system) i figure since they rate it at 300 watts it is at least good for 100 watts rms total.

would this benefit the system or just ruin it?

i want to use this to reinforce the lower tweeter range (~3 khz) since the lpg's sound crappy if crossed over too low

That's called a phase plug.

Anything sounds crappy if crossed over too low.

I would wait on adding anything more until you get the 2-way system up and running and properly tuned. It may turn out that you do not need any "reinforcement in the lower tweeter range".

And if you did, I wouldn't try running it off the stock amp. I would be surprised if the stock amp even had RCA inputs.

Though those Whispers are supposed to sound decent, I would rather go with a slightly larger 3" - 4" dedicated midrange if you did go full fledged 3-way active.

the lpg's are especially bad if running even close to 3khz, that is their only downfall...they have the highend clarity of tweets costing many times their price, anyways why is a bad idea to run it off the stock amp?

and do you have a suggestion on what really budget amp to buy? 20 rms x2 at 4ohm
