Crave for more bass, or not??

I am currently running 2 12 type r's along with a jl 500/1 amp and rockford cap... i personally think that system bumps, but i think it could bump harder as the subs play to their max every time and cant put out the extra umph....since the amp has 500 rms and the subs each have around 300 each, i think that the subs are bein pushed to the limits, i love the sound clarity of these subs but you think i should take new 12's into consideration

also, do you think i can run a jl 1000/1 when my 500/1 at heavy bass is dimming my headlights ever so slightly, would it be safe??

its up to u if u feel u need more bass. Look into http://www.edesignaudio.com all of their subs will sound better than the R's and get louder. If ur getting dimmage look into getting a high output alternator and get rid of the cap.

Port the Type-Rs ...
~2.5 ft^3 common chamber tuned to 25-30 Hz with 21 square inches of port area or more ...

a new box can always make a huge difference and usually is the cheapest option too. but if ur looking for different subs then http://www.edesignsaudio.com has already been mentioned and most people say they sound better and will get louder than the type R's in the correct install. i suggest a larger alternator right now just incase u don't upgrade to the 1000/1

Im pretty much impressed by the 500/1

and i wont think ill be needing the 1000/1....i like the e12k's from the website and have heard many good things about them....as for the dimming issue....there is barely any dimming....only when i really crank it up there

as for the box, could i go about makeing it myself, how do i tune it to 25-30 inches...

i want to take full use of my 500/1 and plan on keeping it ...but i need some more UMPH* outta my system
