also... fyi, if you plan on using the screws to bolt down the spider landings its gonna be a bish

every one of them ive done came with screws that were too short, i just ended up clamping down the spider rings till the glue dried...

also, putting the screws in is especially a bish on the 15" basket... you will see why soon enough //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

lol...yup as far as I can see I shined a flashlight to lok really well, but that doesnt always mean its all clean. I will look in the daylight to make sure and use my air hose to blow it out real good.

and Miller...

I just took a flathead screwdriver and easily hammered it out...It cracks pretty easily and after its cracked just use your hand and pull it out..pretty easy.

i use a really long flathead screwdriver and put it through one of the cooling vents under the spider landings...

thanks for that info...I will ask DJ and see if I can get replacement screws by any chance. Hopefully I can get it screwed down..if not I got a L-shaped allen driver that should do the trick...

the recone kit comes with replacement screws and an L-shaped allen driver

the problem is with the 15" cone you cant get the supplied allen driver down to the spokes thru the top of the basket due to the size of the cone, so your only option is to use the L side in between the spokes, which allows you to turn the screw maybe 10 degrees at a time... this is a problem when the screws are so short they only go like 5 threads into the basket

ahhh...gotcha...hmmm well hopefully time will be on myside and i can get it done without too much of a hassle.

and i meant former not pole..lol

edIT: Also, I can afro engineer my swivel driver I got and fix it on the allen wrench to maybe speed up progress a little, and then go back and tighten down by hand.

Took me 45+ minutes just to get the screws in on the last HDC recone I did. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/furious.gif.fc81ca146dbff91fede3ed290dbc4f4c.gif I'm 99% sure you can skip using them and just clamp the spider down and hit the CA glue with some accelerator and be done with it.

15" sub has NO room to get in there, even with a swivel...

if you roll the surround back you can use a longer allen driver to tighten them //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

but this wouldnt be a problem if the screws that came with the recone kits were the same length as the original screws

and yes, you can just clam the landings down till the glue dries

lol hell yea .. my *** was sitting there on the first 2 screws wondering why the hell they were not coming out then realized they were being held in with some nice ca glue . I then got some plyers and yanked them out
