His math is fine. However, his understanding of amplifier and speaker interaction is lacking. He's suggesting wiring the two 8ohm speakers in series for a final load of 16ohms. Of course, the proper method would be to parallel them down to 4ohms.
Either way, just someboy trying to get money for junk. Welcome to the interweb. Its pretty common.
