Why do so many people think rehab works for everyone?

My best friend has done many drugs and always goes back to crack. He has been to rehab many times and been put in jail for selling drugs. He has never truly quit and IMO will always be on it. Only way he will get off it, is if he really wants too. Rehab is good for some people, but don't work for everyone.

I will say he spent 4 years in a rehab place in Detriot and came out cooking for some of the top cooks in our area. Was making mad money and of course went back to drugs being he was working 80 plus hours a week. He was the head chef at many different places.

I still love him like a brother and try to always be there for him. Just wish he could kick it, but I don't see him doing so. He is living with his sister now, who is trying to keep him out of trouble.
