hey my cousion is in need of a sub, and the local car audio shop that we go to has the coustic carbin fiber subs as well as the complete line up of diamond subs. both subs are around the same price range and both will be in a smalled sealed box around .5 cu ft. so what do you guys think

i dont know how goodf the new coustic stuff is. the older equip was awsome. the diamond products are highly respected at all levels.

exactly my point. high end coustics or low end diamonds. ive built a box for a 12" D3 and it sounded good with awsome out put for 1 12. we may have to go there and try em out in my truck or his car, but i would like some input from you fellas

well one thing i can say is coustic is owned my mitek now(or at least manufactured) mitek does mtx, xtant and coustic. i personally dont like mtx subs, and have never heard xtant, but have heard that the lower lines **** donkey balls. that still doesent give you info on the coustic tho. if it were me i would chance the diamond even though ive never heard it either but read so many nice things about them and never a bad word. you said you had done a diamond d3 and liked it so maybe thats the answer.

i am aware that coustuic is owned my Mitek. i know a guy who works for Mitek cananda. i am a fan of MTX as im sure you could tell if ya looked at my sig. im not woried about warenty. my dealer offer 1 year warenty or 2 if installed my auturized diamond and coustic dealer. although im not auturized ive established quite a relation ship with my car audio store and they would give me 2 years on both

i my self am leaning towards the diamonds. howeverm where gonna have a listen to both. both in the shop and in my truck. ill let you guys know

I assume diamond makes awesome stuff but never heard any personally, but I did own two 12" carbon fiber coustic subs in a ported box running off a coustic 400 d and man it was a great SQL set up, wish I wouldn't of sold it, oh well, another thing I can say in coustic's favor is they make some bad azz crossovers

well, we ended up with coustic sub for a few resons. one it was 50 bucks cheaper, for a sub with an ultra ridged carbin fibe cone, a cast aluinum basket and same power handling. according to its TS perimterts is has a lower FS wich is something i look for in a sub. and for a few resons that dont matter. my coustin has coustic amps so why not match it up and our car audio shop was out of dual 2 ohm D3. we ran the sub off my amp on 250 watt and it was clean and tight with just enough bass to complament the rest of a system. im sure it would add a bit more off a full 400 watts.
