Is power cleaner from a straight 2 channel amp vice a bridged 4 channel? Ive been looking at quite a few amps and would like to get ~200w rms for my comps.

Ive been looking at the following amps:

Clarion DPX2251

RF P400a4

RF 850.4

Cadence TXA 3004 ( I used to have a ZRS9004 that my dumbass sold //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif)

THD for these I think are all .05%, but how do you determine what it is bridged? Do you multiply it by 2 or is there something else?

Err, generally bridged is power x2 at 4 ohms.
let me show u an example...

this is for the TXA-3004

4 Ohm RMS Power: 4 x 75 Watts @ 13.8 Volts

2 Ohm RMS Power: 4 x 150 Watts @ 13.8 Volts

4 Ohm Bridged RMS Power: 2 x 300 Watts @ 13.8 Volts

See how it is 4 x 150w at 2 ohms?

Bridged it would give u 300w...

Umm, no. That would be either a 2 ohm SVC sub or 2 SVC 4 ohm subs ran in parallel on a single channel. I think you're confusing paralleling with bridging.

irrelevant either way //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif THD Cleaner or not

one more question. Would the Cadence txa6004 be too much for a set of components? I couldnt find if it was a class A/B or D amp.
Headroom is good. You dont have to have all of the power going to the comps. Jus set the gaines properly with a DMM an youll be good.

depends on what components. Seems to me ~125w/chan should be plenty for about any good components to sound their best. If you have components you think would benefit from ~200w vs ~125w (the txa's are a little over-rated) then I don't think the THD is really an issue.

Completely inaudible at 4 ohms stereo vs still inaudible at 4 ohms bridged is inaudible either way.

I went from a 90x2 amp to a bridged 50x4 (180x2) and the results were great.
