OK, so as I'm sure you can tell by my post count I'm new here. I just have a few questions and I'll try my best to avoid the "which sub hits harder" type questions.

I have a 1967 Mercury Cougar that I'm fixing up and I want to do some custom audio in it.

I know there are holes 6x9's in the back but i want 6 1/2" components up front as well as new 6x9s. Anyone know good ways to mount that up front without tearing up the car and cutting holes in the interior?

So lastly heres what I'm thinking as far a speakers and amps go.

-2 kicker l7 12's powered by a Hifonics HFi 1500.1D amp (

-Rockford Fosgate power 6x9s and 6 1/2 components powered by a Hifonics HFi 100.4

Like I said I'm new here so any suggestions would be great!

Build kick panels for the front. And a classic deserves better equipment than Hifonics makes now. I'd go with Old School Series VII if you want to use Hifonics amps.

And also I'm looking for decent sound quality but I'm not an audiophile. But I listened to some jl audio c-5 components localy and they sounded amazing. But I also want to be able to show it off as far as SPL goes.

if you can wait a few monthes, the reviews coming back on the Obsidian subs are pretty good. Capable of high output, but are intended to be good sq drivers as well

Multiple 10's or 12's I was also looking at two Fi BTL 12's but at 400+ change a piece fully loaded, plus an amp I'm already probably 1200+ and still need new 6x9s 6 1/2's deck and amp. Which I would think would be pushing me into the 2k range?

You could do something like 2 SA 12s (190 each) with an AQ 1200d (I believe 270) and that would be a very solid substage
