Cool ways to prevent theft in your car

Make everything stock looking and Don't bump in parking lots, neighborhoods or other populated areas where you frequent a lot. Those are places where theives will mark your car and figure out your routine, and then jack you.

yep....

I was thinking about having some magnets that say SECURITY or POLICE made online..

Just slap those on the door when you leave..

simple.. just dont drive around with em on..

I have a dodge caravan with the back seat taken out so i am going to u bolt a piece of mdf where the seat gets mounted and then i will bolt my sub into that but the u bolts will be hidden so my subs dont get stolen

for the headunit...if u have a very nice head unit....somehow find a stock tape deck and cut off the face and figure out a way to line the side of the face so that it will slide over and around the nice deck liek a face gaurd, make it look like a stock tape deck.......then when u come back to ur car just take it off...

if u have a TV, mount it in the glove box //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Or in your visors, and dont use a flip out screen! Get something that plays dvd's and has a removable face plate. Actually remove the faceplate when you park.

when you build your box, make it a flushmount baffle. that is - two boards deep, and the sub is mounted to the first board with the second board around it.
then, attach your box to the location it will sit from the INSIDE (bolts\screws\whatever)

then, mount your sub.

heres the cool part. make ANOTHER baffle, but cut the inner diamater of the sub again, now mount it to the outside of the box with like 20 security screws. if you got the time, do like 20 different kinds.

that sub isnt going anywhere.

as for the amp. you could do the same thing, mount it behind a panel that is secured to the vehicle with security screws (or some other smart way)

so people basically just cant get to the mounting screws //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

My friend did something like that. It was in there so **** good, the theivs couldn't budge it. So they stabbed it with a knife repeatedly and pretty much gutted it. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

bolt all your shitdown and an alarm.worked for me:) . considering ive had my car broken into twice since i moved back to fresno they tried to steal deck i have crews on the side so it doesnt come out without 5 mins of work. they got into my trunk my trunk is tiny and box i heavy and bolted in all corners except 2. so its awhile to putt it out.

look on ebay for an detachable steering wheel adapter. then bolt your box down from the inside of the box then mount the subs to the box. if you can't find a adapter for your steering wheel buy one of those boots for you rim, like parking enforcement uses.

security screws and mount things in such a way they cant get a crow bar under it. key point is to make it take as long as possible. headunits can use a dash anchor kit kick panels should be at least mounted reinforced with back straps and security screws and a nice alarm with battery back up helps.

Be seen cleaning a large caliber firearm regularly. If people know you're always carrying possibly they wouldn't be prepared to risk jacking your tunes and/or ride for fear of catching a slug.

I did a combination of ^^ and Jack's suggestion of driving a sh*tpile with some nice tunes in it once upon a time though.

I was a rent-a-cop for a few years (blah job but it paid the bills) so everytime I left the house going to work I had my .357 with me. At the time I was driving an '80 Dodge St. Regis that began its life as a local police unit. No one would have ever guessed there was about 6-700 watts worth of tunes in there.

a few years ao there was some sh*it that was basically a big a** cattle prod looking thing, just line you car with those, anyone who can take the shock from that deserves to have your stereo. dont remember who made them, but i know i wouldnt mess with them

I am looking for an alarm for my car. But as of now, I only park at my house and a motion sensor light comes on when people walk by my car, and my dogs sleep in a room that can see my car and they go nuts when people walk near my car. It has me waking up about 30 times a night but it has been working until I get an alarm.

Get a bumper sticker that says "Proud Member of the NRA" or just turn your system down when your going to park. Get lots of sound deadning so it's only really loud on the inside.
