But will it?
If you think about it, the planes wheels will be moving, but the plane will not be going anywhere, therefore how could it have air over the wings? Just curious about your reasoning
Read the other thread r-tard...

It's explained about 10times...

yes it takes off. jet engines apply thrust to the air, not the ground. it's all independent of wheel speed. as the plane accelerates, so do the wheels and the treadmill. the wheels go 2x as fast as normal due to the reverse motion of the treadmill but hte plane continues ahead at normal speed. it's the wheels job to keep up with the plane and the treadmill not the other way around.

there is another thread about this that you should check out.

the main issue seems to be that people are misunderstanding what is suppose to be going on (me included). people are assuming that the idea is that the plane i suppose to be stationary (ie treadmill pulls back and then the plane speeds up and slows down to esentially be "motionless") and then somehow is able to take off. which is where the argument comes from.

once i was more informed on what the myth was actually getting at , i quickly realized why people still thought it wouldnt take off.

yeah, if the plane never moves, obviously it will never take off. the question wants to make us believe the plane wont' move, but after some thought, the plane HAS to move, as the jet's are working against the air, not hte tread mill.
