my mp3 player holds three times as many WMA songs as MP3's but only half of my music is WMA format... anyway to convert the rest back WMA???
Quality QuantityThere is no spoon, only tradeoffs.
WMA has a mathematically lossless output; for the most part it's cool, but I've come across some files that aren't completely lossless. Plus lossy WMA is weak. FLAC or V0 > *There's lossy & lossless WMA. There's no lossless mp3, as far as I know. Converting from one lossy to another lossy format always impairs the quality, even at the same bitrate. WMA takes things out that MP3 leaves in and vice versa. That's what makes a different codec. Lossless -> multiple lossy gives you the best of each lossy codec (as opposed to one lossy to another lossy).
I have been preaching to the masses.... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gifEAC and LAME together are a beautiful thing.
When WMA takes over all audio media, I'll have no choice, but for now, I want the best of what the compressed audio world has to offer and that's EAC/LAME.
Quality really isn't much different if you're using the new presets, and MP3's are obviously more compatible. If FAC doesn't cut if for you, you can also use Also, if you're going to go through the effort of using EAC and LAME and to make MP3s, why not just go with OGG/Vorbis and call it a day?
