Continuity Test

ok got it all done with 50hz and 1khz. I think im in business, thanks!

Did have one weird thing. Did the cont test. When I tested each speaker (granted i had it still connected to my crossover but i just touched the pen thing to the screw on top of it which its all metal).... Both the pos and neg on the tweeter and the mid gave me close to 0 (not 0 though but close) for the LEFT but it was dead at 1 for everything on the right.

Weird.

I looked at the wire (well not the end in the door itself) and no chafing. The sound seems fine but I dunno.

If everything is working fine when all is said and done then you should be ok. When speakers are still connected to crossovers/amps, etc they can do weird things.

If you start having problems youll know where to look.

Sweet, thanks so much!!

Its amazing how much diff the gain made on my components. It think the loudness and clarify shot up like 4x from increasing the gain to the correct setting. It almost overpowers my subs now, lol

Good Im glad we could give you all the info you needed and you got all your problems fixed.

Knowing how to troubleshoot and actually learning from your mistakes or what they mean and how to fix them is the hardest thing an installer has to learn.

That and being humble...

Found my stinking problem!

The continuity test was key on this one. So it was reading 0 on my left tweeter so I said **** it, ill just replace both the left speaker wires to be on the safe side. About an hour or so (i have crossover in my trunk so i have 2 10ftish lines and the short one is to the amp) I figured it would take. Taking it apart and the tweeter wire wouldnt budge from under the carpet. WTF

So then i realize, its stuck on the bolt for my front seat. I took my seat out when I ran the wire and I guess when i bolted the mother****er down it got caught by the bolt. The wire looked great minus a little shielding in the one spot. I was about to replace but I figured Id electrical tape and see how it was. Well its been like 16hours which isnt much but its better than ever. Rechecked continuity and of course, shows a 1.

Dang bolt //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Ill def remember to check that again in the future!
