Connected laptop to tv; blew fuse in house, laptop has no display now

Like the title says. I had the laptop powered from the wall. Using s-video, I connected it to the tv (which I have done many times before) and all of a sudden the entire tv, dvd player, cable box, and lamp went out. Fuse was blown. Now the laptop powers up fine, but all I get is a black screen. I have a feeling I made a short since all the outlets work off the same fuse, and I'm concerned I may have just royally f'ed up the computer. I tried connecting the laptop to a computer monitor via VGA, but still nothing. Just black screen. I think the video card is gone. Any ideas?
