Confused...

I have my 12w6v2 running off a kenwood kac-929 2chan...and it is bridged@4ohms...the sub is dual 4....what is the sub running at?
Apparently your amp is not bridged at 4ohms, as there is no way to wire a single DVC 4ohm/coil sub to 4ohms.

If you have the coils in parallel, then you have a 2ohm load. If you have the coils in series, then you have an 8ohm load.

I saw on the wiring diagrams that there is no way a single dual 4 sub can be ran at 4ohms...so what is it running at?
Depends if you wired the coils in series or in parallel.

There is 4 terminals on the amp, and i am using the pos from one side and the neg from the other, the ones the amp says to use to bridge it....

The pos from that is run to the pos and the sub and the same for negative...

on jl's site it says that it is wired in parallel, as i never changed it when i got the sub...

and the amp is rated at 230x2@2ohms, so what power is it getting?

Thank you //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif . Just like your post. Asshat.
Are you only running one coil or what?
no both coils...i just dont understand the 230x2@2 ohms thing...does that mean its only getting 230@ a 2ohm load or is it getting the full 460 since only 1 sub is getting the power...

230w x 2 @ 2ohms means the each amplifier channel will output 230w with a 2ohm load connect to each individual channel.

Now, you do not have a 2ohm load connected to each individual channel. You have a 2ohm load bridged to the amp....or, essentially, a 1ohm load on each channel.

What's this mean? That you are running the amp beyond it's capabilities, increasing the chances of damaging it.

that amp is 150x2@2ohms, 1x460@4ohms and 230X2@4ohms. so as long as your wiring is correct, it should be delivering 460@4.
this is what i found...

Bridged Power Output at 14.4V (1kHz, 0.8% THD): 460 Watts x 1

Maximum Output Power: 1000 Watts

Power Output at 2 Ohms, at 14.4V (1kHz, 0.8% THD): 230 Watts x 2

Power Output at 4 Ohms, at 14.4V (20Hz-20kHz, 0.08% THD): 150 Watts x 2

that amp is 150x2@2ohms, 1x460@4ohms and 230X2@4ohms. so as long as your wiring is correct, it should be delivering 460@4.
you just need to stop posting your gonna end up costing people money. Hes got a dual 4 ohm speaker there is no way he can be running at 4 ohms. He would have to have another sub to do that:ban:
