I've been looking to buy some sort of cable to hook up my laptop to my lcd tv, but don't know what i need to get. I've read online that vga can only support to a certain resolution. with that being said, will a vga-to-vga cable be able to send a 1280x800 resolution? and which is better, s-video or vga?

I have an old P4 2.6ghz with a TNT Vanta 64mb video card running a 24" lcd @ 1920x1200 using VGA. If a video card from 1999 can run that resolution on a 24" monitor with no problems I think your laptop will do fine.

Just trying to say....get a vga cable, it will work fine

if you have a good video card that does hdtv format out and has DVI out get a DVI to HDMI cable. supports up to 1080p, best way to go hands down ive tried it all. I have an older 7800gs AGP card and it works flawlessly with the Nvidia driver program.
