take the radius, square it and multiply it times 3.14159265358979323846

how would i figure it up for a square 12" sub

considering squares are supposed to have 16-20% more cone area

which would be 1.92-2.4 inches added to the 12 correct

Sd = (3.1416 x D^2)/4

where "D" is the diameter of the cone [the actual cone itself, NOT the subwoofer's diameter] plus 1/3 of the surround (or 1/2 if that be the case)

You can not simply take the diameter of the subwoofer and use that to calculate cone area as has you have to account for the surround. Wider surround = less Sd.

If you want to compare the cone area of various subs, just look at the Sd in the T/S parameters.

the guy at the shop is a tool, a retarded product pushing monkey, I could go on and on about stupid dumb mother****ers who push this garbage on paying customers.

No one needs to be MECP certified anymore? who hired their retarded cousin to sell subs. OMFG!
