thanks guys i was getting confused i got different answers from the guys attha audio shop ther told me to multiply the number of subs

you would have to. you only figured out the area for one sub.

once you have area of one, then you multiply times number of subs

Sd = (3.1416 x D^2)/4

where "D" is the diameter of the cone [the actual cone itself, NOT the subwoofer's diameter] plus 1/3 of the surround (or 1/2 if that be the case)

You can not simply take the diameter of the subwoofer and use that to calculate cone area as has you have to account for the surround. Wider surround = less Sd.

If you want to compare the cone area of various subs, just look at the Sd in the T/S parameters.
