Here's a clip; ( Get it? A clip. BWahaha:laugh: )

--------

Remember that the concept (no pun intended) of power is basic.

AC Volts squared divided by the impedance. Pretty simple.

Many will say “Hey..that’s not how they measure amplifiers. They hook them up to load resistors and run sinewave..not music.!”

I don't know about you guys, BUT...do you listen to load resistors? I sure as Hell don’t listen to load resistors OR sinewaves.

Therefore what is important to ME is reality. What is MY amplifier making into my speakers? I don’t care about “Joe’s”, or “Bob’s” amplifier..what is MINE doing, right now. To do that is simple. Get a Digital Volt Ohm Meter (DVM). Set it to AC volts and touch the DVM leads to the speaker terminal of the amplifer.

Crank the system for all it’s got! Read the biggest number you see. So... lets say you get 33 AC volts out as the biggest number. You have 2 - 4 ohm 12 inch woofers paralleled (2 ohms). =33 X 33 2 1089 2 =544.5 watts Peak Now this is peak power, or “Dynamic Power”. Which is the most important to me. Because I listen to MUSIC. But if you want to know ”Continuous Power” take the number you got (544.5 Watts in this particular case) times .707 which is RMS (root means square) and that will equal continuous “RMS” power. 544.5 X .707 =384.96 watts RMS So that’s it. Simple, quick, and it IS....... AC Volts 2 Z =Power

Ehh, .. First of all, "I sure as Hell don't!" and "I don't care about Joe's amplifier" are some of the least professional statements I've ever seen.

( Then Again, Adire's banner @ Sin is like.. Beeyatch! )

Anyway; Converse //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Ya its pretty misleading, the biggest fault is the ohm load as it will change at given frequencys and in different enclosures, the nominal rating is just a base figure.

So the formula they use has a terrible flaw, what ohms do you divide by? there is no accurate answer without the resistor.

Works good as a marketing gimmick for the youngsters though.

Not even mentioning that "RMS power" is technically incorrect...//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I think Ohm's Law is the only correct piece of information in that entire article - but I had seen it before.

That's because Teh Wigginz is a speaker p-i-m-p.

Right, and because of the impedance rise/fall, this phrase:

Therefore what is important to ME is reality. What is MY amplifier making into my speakers?
is an illustration of this individual's disregard for science.

I just got outbid on the concept amp, and I'm glad about it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Unfortunately, I'll still be shopping for 'THE' amp.
