Stock vs. Stock, AMD is faster per dollar. Intel slaughters once you start overclocking, though.

Exactly my point, in a business man's mind you have to think about general public. Most people who buy computers don't go about overclocking. So, people are going to go for the faster CPU, especially if they're not over clocking. They keep everything pretty much stock speeds. I usually keep mine at stock speeds, unless I'm just messing around with older computers.

i overclock just because i can. ever since my old athlon xp 3200 with my first abit board. i got learning about overclocking and how its helpfull if u wanna save a few bucks here and there. i will only run watercooling. my next jump is going to be vapochill but thats a HUGE LEAP in price.

mine is stock at 2.4ghz and computes as fast as a 3.2ghz 6400+ overclocked to 4ghz

each has its advantages, but if you had $220 i would go intel

but if u already have an AMD mobo like myself stocked up ready to go. u wouldnt spend more to get a mobo for the intel. lol see my point. thats why i bought the best amd AM2 processor since thats the motherboard i run.

Run PerformanceTest 6.1 and if it averages out to the same as an OCed 6400+, then I would consider an Intel. I have the 6600 already, in my desktop, and to tell you the truth, I liked my old 2.1Ghz 2600+ AMD XP better. Not only because of the AMD, but the performance is the same as the HP desktop, and this was 6 years older.

well ya, no need to spend another $100 for a decent s775 mobo

like i said i was AMD all the way until C2D, i had the 1ghz tbird overclocked to 1.4ghz back in the early 2000's using the "pencil" mod. had the 1800+(1.53ghz) clocked to 1.9ghz back in 2004

i kinda stopped the overclocking thing now and the C2D is smoking fast without having to overclock, not to mention my pc is very very quiet compared to the delta "screamer" i had way back when

i love my motherboard thats why i didnt change. if i did id try the abit fatal1ty one for the s775 but i dont see good reviews on it. thats why i dont trust it. plus its so much cheaper than the am2......http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813127022
