Computer Upgrade Help

any recomendations on the ram theres a lot of options, any particular brand i guess id like to keep it around $40 -$50. Kind of a cheap *** in this situation I just dont wanna throw a bunch of money into this computer

i would say in your case it doesn't matter

2gb of ram and a low end video card should work wonders

I'll be honest with you, if you keep Vista, you will REGRET it. Trust me. I work on computers EVERY day, I am the network Administrator from one of the biggest school districts in NY state. Vista will kill everything. It uses SO MUCH memory, plus programs have a tendency to crash on it. If you put 2 GB's of RAM in there, itunes will still EAT your memory and processor speed. I had a Quad core intel processor with 4GB's RAM and it still couldn't run right.... I upgraded my computer to XP and everything works great again. If you want to stick with vista thats your preference, but trust me.....

I didn't give you a specific Video Card because I don't know one, I gave you a couple sites for RAM because you should go with what is cheaper... I won't tell you something unless i am positive.... and in the vista vs xp battle... vista doesn't have 1 thing better than xp.

well how about this, I dont have a XP back up and my computer crashed at one point and I got a free vista ultimate disc so its my only option. It hasnt been that bad, its simple and does what I need. Im not a programmer or gamer so I dont ask much of my computer. Thanks for your guys help though
