eset.com Download the free trial of Nod32 antivirus. Best in the world. If you have something on your computer, it will find it. Also a program called Noadware is top notch for finding spyware. Try that and see what you find on there. Sounds like you have some spyware.

The only thing you should have started during boot up, is your AntiVirus, and firewall. Use those programs up top, clean your computer, reboot after ALL are done, do not reboot before you complete all. Defrag the computer, and you should be good to go.

I have 29 processes at the moment.

yea i had alot more processes going than those that are listed.. But if i remove the process does it stay off until u open it again.. I wanna get down the the bare minimum of processes, basically shut down all start up programs , defrag then try it to see what happenesand how the hell can i get that yahoo toolbar off.?? i dont even know where it is

Go into there and uninstall anything ya dont want. Be sure to follow the instructions from mike and uncheck everything you do not want to load during your startup.

Take Chad's advise and use AVG, nod is for the complete computer noob, takes control of everything and you need to give it permission to allow alot of stuff. AVG just keeps you clean and safe:.
