Computer pissing me off

I got a virus several months ago, and I cleaned it all off, but even still my computer is suffering the concequences, and I'm really starting to get pissed off with it, what would you guys recommend I do to fix this ish.

I used to be able to run MW2 at max resolution, and max settings with 80+ fps

now it's a fail

disc cleanup, do a rescan with something like kaspersky or nod32, scan with malwarebytes anti-malware, go through your installed programs list and uninstall random programs you dont use, etc.

naturally your program will perform slower because of stuff being added. if you have a win7 disc and a flash drive at your disposal i suggest reformatting. i do it like every 6 months and it helps a lot

I'm not doing anything tomorrow, I've been sitting around thinking about reformatting for the longest time now and I've just never done it.

how much ram you got? i have 4gb and was running win7 64 bit, reformatted to 32 bit and my idle memory usage dropped by half and my overall comp performed faster.

The only real way to cure an infection 100% is to reinstall the OS. Thats why you keep backups on an external HD or DVD.

I think I'm gonna invest about 1.5-2k in a brand new desktop, and then spend about 400-500 on a laptop for school

If u don't wanna do a complete wipe just run CCleaner, Do a full system scan for viruses and spyware adware and all that jusk. After thats all set and done, defragment your hard drive. It will basically organize the data on your hard drive so the system can read and write to it a lot faster. I would try this first before u even think of buying a new computer. I'm going to school for mechanical engineering, lots of intense 3D rendering and I play games, and do graphic work, so lots of CPU and graphics card power is needed.

Makes me realize I need to reformat my computer.....I will fup something up though.

Kaspersky shows 2 virisus, but says it deleted them, but computer runs like ish now......stupid prOn telling me to click on it!
