i have a problem.

i built my own PC 2 years ago. athlon AMD 64 processor. 939 socket MB, nividia 3 chipset.

recently my PC stopped working.

thought it could be my video card, so stuck my friends vid card into my PC and it worked so i bought a new vid card.

stuck that in the new PC and no display still.

PC boots up but no display.

i have some old PCI bid cards, tried them, and no display still.

what could my problem be.

anymore questions, feel free to ask, thanks.

if your vid card worked. why did you buy another one. i would say your mobo is your problem. swap it with another similar and see what you get.

no my vid card stopped working, then we put my friends in, both were AGP x8s. his worked with my PC it booted up. mine didnt. so i figured it was that. bought a new one.

went to go put the new one in, and still doesnt work. i have no similar MB so i might have to end buying one, but now they rarely sell 939 socket. its all 754 socket or AM1 and AM2.

maybe you got a defective video card? why not try to get an exchange and try another one?

Kick his *** and take his damn video card..

/solved.

o well heres what i forgot to mention.

after i got my new vid card in the mail. i tried it and it didnt work. i told him to bring his over. he did

and it didnt work, but the first time i tried it, it did.

128MB, AGP x8.

cost only 40. but had the DVI connection i have

i have a 42" plasma its hooked up to through DVI-HDMI. so thats all i needed really.

the motherboard has a LED display on it. displaying if something is wrong via number with letter proceeding.

it got stuck on 25 until i put my friends vid card in. i looked up 25 and all it said was reserved.

got new card, it boots up and reads normal (FF is normal) and keyboard and mouse activate. but still no display. with PCI card in there it all boots up but still no display.
