Got Bass?
How would this setup sound. This will be going into a 7.1 Surround Sound card that will be coming with my new alienware laptop in a couple months. Til then into an Audigy 2 ZS sound card. Any other suggestions?

Reciever:

Speakers: (should i get the 3 ways? with the 8" mid woofer instead?)

Center Speaker:

Sub Amp:

Custom Box for the sub, undecided on specs yet. Any ideas or suggestions? Thanks in advance. Also what wires other than speaker wiring would I need? RCA's I'm assuming, anything else? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/yumyum.gif.0556df42231b304b9c995aefd13928a8.gif

woops, ya i misread. thats werid, usually i dont see a center channel unless someone's doing a 5.1
It's all good, I just figure I could throw the extra speaker in there for a little more sound instead of the rear speakers. I see no need for rear speakers for a computer when I'm mostly just going to be playing music, rarely gaming with them. And even then, not much surround sound is needed. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif Anyways, good setup you guys think?

probably could ditch the ceneter channel since ur just listening to music.
//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/yumyum.gif.0556df42231b304b9c995aefd13928a8.gif sure saves me 55 bucks to spend on other stuff. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

That's a hellacious deal on a set of bookshelf speakers...

For that price it'd be worth it just to experiment with new crossovers and driver tweaks //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif Definitely post up your comments when you get them.

Will do. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/naughty.gif.94359f346c0f1259df8038d60b41863e.gif

BTW that driver you posted isnt a sub at all, but rather an OEM driver used for towers...look for something else...
For a budget sub, look into the dayton DVC classic series. http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?&Partnumber=295-490. They are cheap and cheap to power, i have the 8 inch version and its surprisingly beefy and well built...100 watts would be enough...
That looks like a pretty good sub. What should I build a box for it at, if I'm going to mostly be listening to music? Maybe 1.5cf tuned to 28-30? I really have no idea, just a rough estimate.
