Comps or Coaxials?

What is the difference between the 2? Are comps really worth the extra money. I am getting a new cd player and an amp to power the front speakers. But would I be ok by just getting coaxials instead of comps?

it depends, generally comps have better crossovers.. and you have freedom for the tweeter direction and location... but you usually wanna try to keep the tweeter close to the mid anyway but even swivel tweeters on coaxs can only move so far... so as i said, it depends but generallly comps > coax

Yes, but narrow it down to a few choices and run

them by us by bumping this thread before you

purchase. Not all are created equal.

I dunno on the amp until i find the speakers. 200 is my all out max but would really like to keep it around 150

I would prefer Comps over Coax so i would say yes they are worth the extra money but it depends how you are trying to build your setup

Well I want my setup to be loud but sound good. Too many people where I live see loud as sq and I hate it.

I would have said rsd too untill the

recent rash of tweeter complaints.

I guess they could all be user error.

I think the cdt's are not a bad choice.

The cdts are cheaper and the cdts seem to have more power handling than the rsds. I have to go 5.25s and find some fittings for 6 x 8 holes
