i was wondering if components HAVE to go the doors to sound the best? How would they sound on a center console something like this? The components are ID xs-65

I would assume they would sound similar as if they were in the door. I'd assume you could deaden doors better tho. I bet the quality of the install decides how they sound, and the angle the speakers are aimed

Doors are used for speakers because of stereo separation and decades of doing the same thing, which is making use of what the car makers gave us. It doesn't have to be done that way, but if your speakers are in the center of the vehicle you will not get a strong separation between left and right in your music. There will always be reflected sounds to fill out the cabin, but this central placement will not be better than placing your mid and treble sources at the outer left and right boundaries of the interior.

ohhh ok makes sense thanks trumpet. i was just asking because i figured that would be a lot easier to do that cutting up my doors and doing all id have to to make the components fit and sound good. another thing idk if you guys know but do XS65's get decently loud?

I've ran the xs69 component set before, same tweets, same mids, but in a bigger 6x9 format.. they can get very loud. I'd go for about 200 watts per speaker. Does your door not have any stock location in the door? What baout a kickpanel install, if your going to fab something that's a MUCH better location for speakers than the door or the center console.

do you think the soundqubed 4.120 will be enough for them? I'm only planning on running one set so i want a speaker that will get decent loud with just one set. my doors look exactly like the ones in the picture never came with speakers so its just a piece of metal and plastic over it. wouldqlogic kick panels work?

You'd want to beef the Q logics up with some extra fiberglass, but they work. The soundqubed 4.120 should be fine, just saying they can def take power, what your planning on is right at rated, so it's good.
