Comps For in a Lightning

ok i want to put new speaker in my ford lightning. from what i understand i have stock 5x7 up front and 6x8 in the rear. i have a JL 300/4 to run the speakers. what should i do.

should i get new speakers for the front and the rear or just get a nicer set of front comp. and run 150watt into each from the 300/4. also which should i look at i want to spend around 300 give or take

I have an 02 lightning and I am making a custom plate out of 1/4" mdf that will mount in the stock 5x7" hole that will have a 5.25" component set mounted in it. I am either going with CDT components, or Diamond Audio Components. The stock rear speaker location on our trucks is horrible so I would just go with components up front.

id do kick panels with 5.25's nd a small sub and a 4 channel amp. u would be alot happier. but if thats out of the question (kicks) get a jl 5x7 component set and get the sub

i already have subs. i have two ten inch elcipses and a 500/1 for each, but now it is time to get the speaker to match the subs. 99ws6 can you post pics when it is done.

I can, but it is going to be a while before I even start them due to the lack of money. You can by the kicks for our trucks, but I don't think they blend in very well with out interior. All you have to do to make the plate I was talking about is take a piece of mdf, either 1/4" or 1/2" if you have the room, cut a 5x7" piece out of it that will mount in the stock speaker opening, then cut a hole that is about 5" in diameter to mount the 5.25" component mid bass speaker. Then either next to that, or somewhere else up the door or on the a pillar, cut a hold for the tweeter.
