Well I will be in the market soon for a new set of Comps. I have had Infinity Kappa 60.5cs's as my first set in my truck. The tweet was rather harsh. I have also had a set of RE RE Comps, didnt like those. Reasons were: Tweeter was too harsh, mids lacked, and the crossovers didnt have a tweeter attenuation capabilities. Right now I have a set of Type R comps to get me by for now.
The mounting depth for the Type Rs have a 3 inch mounting depth. I dont know how much farther I can go, but if something is sugguested over that, before I make my purchase, Ill make sure to check.
My car is a 2001 Grand Am GT. Tweeter in the piller, about... 15 inches away from the mid. I am wanting something that will be musical, play things I have never heard before. From my researching on here I am thinking, Rainbow Soundlines (where to buy?), DLS, Boston Pro's (I would love to have, but too pricey), Focal Utopia's (pricey aswell) and Ology Audio, ect... My budgett is around say... $200-350.
Headunit is a Pioneer Premier 960: 13 band EQ blah blah blah
The amp powering the comps is a Clarion APA 4320 4 channel amp. Specs are:
Maximum Power Output 640W
Continuous Average Power Output 320W (80W x 4 Into 4 Ohms 20Hz-20kHz @ 0.05% THD)
Typical 2-Ohm Stereo 115W x 4 @ 0.2% THD
Typical 2-Ohm Bridged Power 230W x 2 @ 0.2% THD
Bass Extender Control 0~15dB @ 45Hz
Adjustable 55Hz-550Hz, 12dB/oct. High/Low-Pass Crossover
Mixed- Mode Operation
4-, 3-, or 2- Channel Operation
Double-Sided FR4 PC Board
