components with good bass

hi, im looking for a set of components with decent bass. i know some of you are gonna say just get some subs for the bass. well i dont have any trunk space left. i have infinity reference componets right now and they dont have much bass at all.

which set puts out some decent bass? size doesnt really matter because ill make them fit.

What kind of car do you have? I heard an install with Boston Pros in a Miata. The guy had no room for subs (because of his golfclubs), so my friend (the salesman) and the installer recommended heavily dynamatting the doors. It was very good. It was no 8inch, but is was very impressive.

You know what, try Dynaudio. If you can fit the 260's (MKs or GTs) in your door, the lower bass response is even better than the Bostons. Don't forget the Dynamat (or any sound deadener).

Maybe seal of an enclosure in your door and put some 6" JL W0s in them. They wont give you a ton of bass but they will be ok.

If you properly dynamat your doors, with a descent comp set you should have good bass. Not if your a basshead, but good musical bass.

its a 79 lincoln mark 5. the front cutouts are 6.5s and the rears are 6x8s. ive got the 6x8 reference components in the rear. ( blew out a front one) i can do custom kickpanels to fit some 8s if i want to.

ive been thinking the boston acoustics pros with some 8" kicker RMB8s in some custom fiberglass kickpanels. good idea or not?

The Kickers are made for free air, it's best to put them in the door. They are more of a midbass speaker, you could try to find some free air 8inch subs, they should play a little lower.

Question, does your car have a center console or a bench seat? If it has a bench seat, you could build a MDF/Fiberglass enclosure for an 8incher or even 10incher.

car has a spilt bench with armrests in the middle. i could make a center console tho.... maybe like some jl 8"s in some kick panels. i know i can make them fit and work. i dont need the parkbrake anyways, it doesnt work.

That would be tight. With two subs in the kick panel, you could have stereo bass. Most bass is mono, but it does help the soundstage a great deal to have bass up front like that. Ever since I put two JL 8w0's under my front seats (partially in front of them), all I can say is D@MN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i have mbquart q's. they cost alot but all and all they were worth it. great mid bass and clean highs.
