components, no kicks

i have a 92 lesabre, no kicks. front speakers are up by the windshield. i do want some componenets but not looking foward to the qork or $ to get kicks installed. would it be fine to mount some 4x6's or 5x7's in the factory location and just mount the tweeters and call it a day?

im not really looking foward to it cuz my dad is gonna try to help and he just fuxs everything up. i am exicted about doing the work myself however, but im not too knowledgeable on it.

Well, if you didn't mind cutting up your door panel, you should be able to mount them in the lower front of the doors. Every vehicle I've worked on has had room in the lower front of the doors....even the ones that didn't have door speakers. They usually have a nice big opening in the inner door metal there. So, all that would be required would be cutting a hole in the appropriate location on the door panel, making a nice little baffle out of MDF, running wires into the door and mounting the speakers. yah i already pulled back some of the door interior and saw that their was indeed room. and i would be happier with 6 1/2s than 4x6's or 5x7's. this is going to be my next audio upgrade. with that rl-p i have good bass, good highs, and absolutely no mid range lol

I did it in my old Bonneville and just recently in a buddies truck; both of them turned out nicely.
