you sturrin at me brah?
ive got a 98 eddie bauer with 6x8's all around. anyone have any pictures of how they installed their components in the doors? where do you mount the tweets?

is there enough room between the inside metal and the outer panel to use 3/4 inch mdf to make the 6x8 hole hold my 6.5's or will i need to use something thinner?

probably going to deaden the doors while i have them apart, any tips on that? i deadened my ***** am but i dont know how to seal off doors to get good midbass.

what did you do with your tweets? i've seen pictures of them at the top part of the door panel, like this http://www.explorerforum.com/data/showphoto.php?photo=26709&cat=505http://www.explorerforum.com/data/showphoto.php?photo=26709&cat=505[/URL]

which is what i was thinking would sound good looking at the inside of my truck. but i've seen a few like this also http://www.explorerforum.com/data/showphoto.php?photo=23289&cat=505

None of those tweeter locations are really specatular. Especially the one pointing straight up....definitely don't do that one.

You could always build a small tweeter bridge, and mount the tweeter "coaxially" with the mid. Similar to what CDT did with the braxials or how the older Boston Acoustic Pro series used to have.

I haven't installed my components yet, but I was looking to install the tweets in

like the first two pictures cause they both look like nice spots. But from what I have read here that having the tweeters pointing at you like the first pic will make them sound harsh. Im kinda confused on the where to mount the tweets thing also.

why would they sound better mounted over the mids? they are rainbow silk tweets, so they're pretty mellow and can be rotated. just a matter of proximity? could i fix that with time alignment if i go all active?

is there enough room down there to mount the mid off to one side and have the tweet right beside it, in the baffle i make for the 6x8 hole?

where is the best spot to drill through the firewall for some 1/0 gauge?

i didnt see anywhere to mount a fuse holder either, where are you guys putting your fuses?
