okay i have infinity 6.1 perfects in my reg cab truck now. i dont really like the sound of them. given they= make the amp go into protect all the time, tweets are harsh at moments and un hearable at others. but i dont have the door sealed with deadener but i dont think im gonna like the sound outta them. what should i do? sell and buy new mids? or work them a little and stick with them.

you can go a few routes. look into why that amp is going into prtection mode for one. deaden the shit out of the doors, and if you still arent happy with them, try a good EQ, and if you still arent happy with them and the amp is still goofin off, ditch the whole setup and get new amp/comps,

If you cannot provide a proper enclosure for a set of components go with coaxials, they are designed to sound decent in horrible mounting locations.

i dunno but i checked everything with a dmm and still cant find the problem so i plan to run a wire form the positive slot to the remote slot so its always on and see if that works. its in a reg cab s10. i have and eq and still dont like the sound but i think if the amp goes well with this experiment then im gonna get silk tweeters and try that

what EQ do you have and what specifically dont you like about them?

Check to see if your drivers are being grounded (terminal touching metal).

A friend of mine ran into the same problem the other week and his amp would run into protection all the time.

i have a clarion 7 band. they just really sound like high pitch distrotion. i think i may go for the silk over the metal tweeters. or they may just be busted i dunno.
