Component Speakers

I need some opinions - trying to decide which speakers to use in my new 2005 Ford Expedition (front and rear doors). First - should I use the replacement size 5X7 or go with 5 1/4 's...component sets of course... Next, i'm leaning toward MB Quart, JL Audio and Alpine as my choices. Cost doesn't really matter - but would like to stay under $500.00 for each door.....The speakers will be powered by a JL 300/4. Let me know what you think!!

DLS comps would sound nice. no need for comps in the rear. it's just a waste.

Not each door....my bad.....$500.00 for each pair! And 6.5's may fit up front, so any help would be appreciated.

take a listen to some of the speakers at a local shop and see which ones you like best.

are you gunna buy at like a shop or online?

are you gunna buy online and have a shop install?

are you doin it your self?

6.5's would require custom baffles to fit in the 5x7 slot..they make a adapter plate for 5.25's to replace the 5x7's that you could find at crutchfeild..

i to have 5x7's up front and am goin to TRY and put 6.5's in there..its been done plenty of times it just all depends on how much room is in the door panel

try putting some 6.5's in some custom kick panels.
