WEll wake up around 6:30 sat. morning to go to my first competition, like 2-3 hours away. I have everything basically setup in my trunk, but keep the amps off till we get there. So we arrive, get all the papers set and I go to tune my system for a burp. I start with only using 1 1200.1, and but the gain about where i usually have it for daily driving, then start boosting all HU settings. I get it to be pretty loud and turn up the volume and BOP BOP BOP... I first thought I blew the sub, I take it out, the cone blew off the **** piston.. Everyone kinda walks by to see what happened, "o bad design" "o man, with only 1200 watts?" So I run up to lowes with a kid from there and we buy some epoxy, get back and spread it all over, let it sit for about an hour.
I go to the lanes, They place the mic and tell me "gO" I press the Pause, and i hear it "boping" again. I hit 120 db's. I wouldnt have minded so much if i blew the sub and got a good number, but screwing the sub up with no number (db) isnt fun. This sub isnt for competition, and doesnt want to take more than the 900 watts thats recomended. Me, Dustin, and others know that. No ,im not going to call eD and be all pist, because i did send it 1200 watts, 300 watts over the Warranty amount. Thats why I'm getting rid of my A, and trying to buy some SPL orientaded subs..
Great subs if u send em the power recomended. Voice coils CAN handle 2400 watts, although the overall design cant. I'm done with eD.
