Combination Amp+Crossover Rack WORKLOG

Ok, so NOW I finally have everything assembled and should have the whole thing finished this week. The next step is to make the plexiglass windows. I cut the plexiglass windows using a dremel, then split some weatherstripping in half, superguled it on the plexi, and then glued some velcro to give a nice, clean look.

This is a crude tool I made out of some spare MDF. Last time I tried splitting the weatherstripping I could not get an even cut, so this time I cut a 1/2" hold in the MDF, cut a slot for a straight razor, glued that in, and then ran the weatherstripping through the hole. The cuts were super smooth and nice!!!!

Now, the front of the rack is HEAVY, so I needed some structural support. I cut some MDF on a 45-degree angle and glued to the back of the amplifier rack, keeping in mind that a subbox will be slapped in between them.

The following pic is how the plexiglass window looks attached!

wow...looks nice. but why mount the crossovers way in the trunk so you have to run twice as much wire than you would normally?
I am only running 1 amp, so I figured why not? I will be ripping out the interior when I do the audio install, so it won't be too much extra work.

Alright, so no we're coming into the final stretch. Thext step is to mount the subwoofer to the floow so we can make sure that things does not bounce all over the place. I am using deckplates for brackets as they are strong and sit on a nice 90-angle. First things first, I had to cut the front brackets as they were hitting the subwoofer.

Now, the front sub...which needs to be vaccumed!

OK, ALLLLLMOST DONE! I have to make 4 more grommets of small diameter and then IT'S DONE!!!! Here are pics of how it looks in the trunk, I was fortunate enough to have the rain hold off so I could get this done. I will try and get pics of it lit up tonight.
