Im having a little bit of difficulty deciding on what colleges to visit and/or potentially apply to. I screwed around as an underclassmen and have currently got my shit together, although im feeling the effects of not working hard previously:crap:
Im not 100% on what I want to major in, but at the current moment PreMed and eventually Medical school sounds like its the ticket (and I am currently enjoying ap chemistry, albeit im aware that college chem is several orders of magnitude more difficult). Engineering isnt completely out of the question, as Im really interested in the inner workings of things and technical concepts. Although, Im hoping to be successful (pay off college debt quickly) and engineers arent paid very well locally, although doctors are always in demand. everywhere lol
I live in Fort Wayne, Indiana and the weather sucks:crap: In-State would be fine, but out of state might even be better (more southern and closer to the east coast would be nice, but buying a plane ticket every time I need to come home would be a little extreme)
My semester GPA was a 4.5-4.6 and my accumulative should be right around (or slightly below) a 4.0 (not including senior classes, as colleges dont really look at those other than course selection).
Course selection:
Sophomore year I took
Honors Chemistry
Honors English
Latin III
Algebra II
World History
some retarted art class
New Testament/Old Testament
Junior year I took
Genetics/Microbiology
Honors English
AP Chemistry
Morality
Latin IV
US History
PreCalculus
Senior year im taking
Calculus
AP Bio
Honors Physics
Study Hall (2 semesters)
Creative Writing/Speech
Catholic Social Teaching
Honors Gov/Econ
I have taken the SAT once, just to get the feel of it (stayed up till 1am the night before, sporadically answered questions, basically if I studied I should be able to bring my score up). I got a 670 on Math and a 630 on English, and a 1450/1600 seems easily achievable next time I take it.
Im not really involved in many school activities (mainly because we've got a lot of jocks, and I'd never get to play but also because im lazy)
Anyhow, looking for any input I can get. Thanks
