College Dorm Wireless Security System

Hey,

I need some help here. I work in a freshman residence dorm (Dry dorm - no alcohol allowed) and me and my staff wanted to put in a wireless security system so that we could monitor these incompetent freshman better. The problem is that they sneak up alcohol and guests who trash the building through the basement. Then they usually bypass the first floor in the elevator and go straight up to whatever floor they are on. Sooo, I would like to install a small camera in the basement pointed at the door and a monitor (can be small) that could be on the first floor. There is no way to wire it because housing won't fund the project. Is there any sort of wireless system that is relatively cheap and easy to set up? Please help if you can, thanks!!

Not only is that probably illegal to have hidden (and unapproved) surveillance cameras, but shouldn't you contact the administration about this instead of asking a bunch of underage drinkers (and college students) on this forum?

Obviously if they don't think its a big enough problem to fund it, then you shouldn't have to worry about it either.

Not to mention that once a kid gets caught/sees the camera/etc., they are going to destroy it anyways.

This is basically a lost cause.

And after what we did to our dorm floor my freshman year, they made our floor the "quiet floor" the next year. lolz

Just go with the good ol' speeches about why drinking is bad then show them pictures of accidents where people died due to drinking and driving...scare tactics usually work...but installing cameras to spy ftl...

Freshman year=drank with him

Sophmore year=drank with him, including in the dorms (dry campus), and I lived next to him!

My RA last year was either verrry effeminent, or gay...but he never cared they we drank in the room, just as long as we didnt do anything stupid...like bring home a pet squirrel, or start a small campfire in the trashcan when it was cold and roast marshmellows, or hold a dance contest in the common room using my stereo...or any other things along those lines //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/uhoh.gif.c07307dd22ee7e63e22fc8e9c614d1fd.gif
